Bericht zur Rallye Sardegna 2008 von Michael Koelbach
Bei der Ankunft in Sardinien war noch alles in Ordnung – zumindest, was das Wetter betraf. Doch das änderte sich schnell, denn es begann heftig zu regnen; dadurch verwandelten sich die Wertungsprüfungen zum Teil in Schlammlöcher bzw. die Bäche wurden zu Flüssen. An einer Stelle wartete für den Notfall sogar ein Traktor falls sich jemand festfahren sollte. Doch wir kamen irgenwie überall durch und waren natürlich jetzt auf die Rallye gespannt.
Nach einem guten Start am Freitag erwischte es uns kurz vor dem Ziel der letzten Wertungsprüfung. In einer mittelschnellen Rechtskurve trafen wir einen Stein, der uns die Spurstange beschädigte und einen platten Reifen bescherte. Da die Prüfung nicht mehr so lang bis zum Ziel war, hätte man mit einem kaputten Reifen weiterfahren können, aber die Spurstange brach nach einigen hundert Metern vollends ab und wir bogen ohne Vorwarnung nacht rechts in die Böschung ab. Dort standen wir dann „recht ungünstig“ quer zur Fahrbahn. Ich stieg aus, um die nachfolgenden Autos zu warnen und nachdem dann einige Streckenposten zur Stelle waren, versuchten wir unser Auto aus der misslichen Lage zu befreien.Dies dauerte aber leider zu lange und der nächste Teilnehmer war schon im Anmarsch. Obwohl er von Streckenposten gewarnt wurde, streifte er unser Auto am Heck, was natürlich zusätzliche Beschädigungen mit sich brachte.
Nachdem wir endlich unser Auto befreit hatten, fuhren wir dann langsam durch`s Ziel, was zum Glück wirklich nicht mehr soweit weg war. Nach der Zieldurchfahrt konnten wir dann die defekte Spurstange ersetzen und beruhigt zum Service fahren. Da es der letzte Service am Abend war, betrug die Servicezeit 45 Minuten, die unsere Mechaniker auch brauchten, da noch einiges an unserem Citroen repariert werden musste. Der Zeitverlust auf der Wertungsprüfung betrug ca. 3 Minuten, die uns im Klassement auf den 10.Platz zurück warfen.
Am zweiten Tag ging es darum, Schadensbegrenzung zu betreiben und deshalb fuhren wir nicht so richtig schnell über die Prüfungen, zumal das Handling auch nicht mehr so stimmte. Am Ende des zweiten Tages lagen wir wieder auf dem 5.Platz und wir hofften natürlich am Sonntag noch einen Platz gut zu machen.
Durch leichten Regen in der Nacht von Samstag auf Sonntag war der Zustand der Prüfungen zum Teil recht rutschig und wir versuchten unser Bestes. Unser direkter Gegner hatte dann einen Plattfuss und wir rutschten auf den 4.Platz nach vorne. Jetzt versuchten wir natürlich diese Position zu retten. Zwar nahm uns unser Verfolger auf der Wertungsprüfung 15 viel Zeit ab, aber es waren dann nur noch 20 WP-Kilometer und das sollte wohl reichen. Aber diesmal war das Glück auf unserer Seite. Es kam für uns noch besser, denn der Zweitplatzierte Martin Prokop verlor durch einen technischen Defekt am Auto rund 14 Minuten. Es tut uns zwar leid für Martin, doch wir nahmen das Geschenk natürlich sehr gerne dankend an.
So konntenwir unseren ersten Podiumsplatz in der Junior-WM feiern. Im Gesamtklassement liegen wir nun auf dem 4.Platz.
Nächst Woche geht es mit Andreas in Griechenland weiter, mal schauen wie es dort läuft.
