schlechter Saisonstart – Rallye Qatar

Wie schon berichtet, fand mein Saisonauftakt zur Middle East Meisterschaft in Qatar statt und er begann für Andreas Wimmer und mich denkbar schlecht! Der Defektteufel verfolgte uns ab der dritten Wertungsprüfung.

Nach einem verhaltenem Start in Wertungsprüfung 1 und guter Wertungsprüfung 2 streikte in der dritten Prüfung das Getriebe, was für uns das frühe Aus bedeutete. Somit verschwanden auch unsere Hoffnungen auf einige Punkte für die Meisterschaft.

Am Samstag durften wir zwar wieder an den Start gehen, doch lediglich als 19ter, da es im Middle East Championship für jede nicht absolvierte Wertungsprüfung zusätzliche 10 Minuten gibt.

Für Andreas und mich ging es lediglich noch darum, Erfahrung zu sammeln und ins Ziel zu kommen. Aber auch das war uns fast nicht gegönnt. Auf der vorletzten Wertungsprüfung brach an unserem Subaru die Antriebswelle und wir konnten nur noch mit Vorderradantrieb fahren. So erreichten wir mit viel Mühe das Ziel – auf Platz 15 und das war sehr enttäuschend für uns.

Mitte März geht es zum nächsten Lauf in den Oman. Dort haben wir letztes Jahr unser bestes Resultat erzielt. Das gibt natürlich Hoffnung auf eine bessere Rallye.

Aaron hatte in Norwegen einen super Start. Er hat die Rallye mit einem erfolgreichen 5. Platz beendet und somit schon vier Punkte auf dem Konto gesammelt. Ich hoffe, dass wir beide das in Sardinien ausbauen können.
